Therefore, for each product purchased, one tree is planted in your name.
WHY PLANTING TREES?
For over 350 million years, trees have been providing earth with the crucial factors that have made earth inhabitable for us. Aside from providing habitats for millions of species, they also collect and store carbon from the atmosphere and produce oxygen. This ability is greatly overlooked by us humans, as we are cutting down over 15 billion trees annually, meaning almost 50% of all the trees on earth have been cleared out over the past 12,000 years. With the rise of unsustainable amounts of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere due to excessive use of transportation and the animal industry, trees should be the evident and natural solution to the problems we are causing.
PROTECT & RESTORE
Planting trees for the massive loss in them over the years is crucial for the future of the planet. Yet equally, we need to focus on protecting the trees standing today. Because although planting trees ensures a great amount of CO2 absorption in the future, we also need action right now. That is why we are committed not only to planting trees but also protecting the existing forests, which are the ones that will make the biggest impact right now.
VILLAMATSA, MADAGASCAR
We are currently supporting the Eden Projects in Madagascar, Africa. In response to the large-scale loss of mangroves and upland forests in Madagascar Eden Reforestation Projects initiated the Madagascar Reforestation Project. The overall goal and purpose of this project is to support local communities to plant and manage mangrove forests on community land surrounding the village. It also offers longer-term employment to local communities and livelihood improvements to the workers.
